Monthly meeting with Sefton Thursday 26th April 2018
In a attendance myself rep the Park , reps from The Alt, Southport Golf , Southport Ladies , Mick the greenkeeper, Declan and Martin.
Details of what was said at the meeting as follows
Martin Starbutts will be taking over the running of the course , Declan leaves on the 23rd July.
New machinery now in place , upto to meeting no rough ( rotary ) cutter as yet , but have borrowed one for the time being.
Wider fairways now in place , apparently what the clubs asked for , some debate about this has who said what .
New pins , cups , flags , rakes , tee markers ,New hole cutter and Depth setter ( should stop the crowning on the holes ) and a shoe brush cleaner located outside the shop , all of these on order .
Their was some oil leakage on greens , 8 in total which is non toxic .
All bunkers now in play , except 2 on the 1st hole.
Ditches will be flared once a month , greens will be dressed in the next month.
Still awaiting the sprayer for the daisys.
Slow play was mentioned to all club reps to remind their members when they go out to play.
On the 4th Hole the Sleepers on the wall bunker will all be taken out and a grass mound will take their place , the bunker will remain.
The putting green must have ramp for Wheelchair asseceibilty ( heath & safety ) someone coming to look next week.
The dumping of rubble on the 11th is to be removed
The Whitehouse next door , a rep from sefton was coming to look at the building for opening , if they dont want it , will be put to private tenders .
I was asked by members concerning the 11am start for seniors midweek , they came up with what was said before about more public wanting to start before 11 and couldnt get tee times , they said they would look into it and let us know at the next meeting , STILL ONGOING.
Was asked at previous meeting concerning the steps leading up to some of the tees , could they put some wire netting as they get slippy when wet.. It was said that they would maintain with some anti slip coating instead.
