Roger Doughty has been voted Senior Golfer of the Year for 2017 and 2016 by members of the Seniors at their AGM.
Roger, who is 71, first joined the Club (in the mid 1970s when he and his wife lived in Formby) with a handicap of 15. He left and joined Heaton Moor and then Astbury when they moved to Cheshire in 1981. He retired to Southport and re-joined the Park Golf Club in February 1999. He now plays to a handicap of 16 and is often amongst the leaders in competitions both for Members and Seniors. During the year he was continually coming to the fore playing consistently well.
